Rescues have often struggled to make ends meet, but since Covid and the economic downturn following the pandemic, rescues now face a challenge like never before.
The number of owners looking for rescue space for their pets has never been higher - some are struggling financially, some finding pet care too challenging now there is a reduction in home working ... and there are a multitude of other reasons too. And whatever the reason, the animal at the center of the situation needs help.
Helping Rescues Help Animals
There are many ways supporters can help rescues. Some people are able to volunteer - whether helping to fundraise, foster, clean out cages or transport animals, every extra pair of hands is welcome. Contact your local rescue directly if you're looking to help in this way.
Rescues always need donations - and donations don't have to be financial. Donating goods to raffle, donating cakes for a bake sale (yum!), or donating newspapers, towels or straw are all great - every donation really helps.
If you're planning to donate goods to a rescue, it is a good idea to contact them and enquire if they need what you're looking to donate - in case they've just been given a truckload and can't possibly store even one more newspaper ... unlikely - but it could happen!
To help take to pressure off, we've teamed up with a number of reputable rescues around the UK and set up individual wishlists of items each rescue is specifically looking for. All the items on a rescues' wishlist page are needed now and will be most gratefully received - both by the rescue and the individual animals in their care.
It's a quick and easy way of helping out - just pop over to the individual wishlist page of the rescue you'd like to donate to, and select what you'd like to donate. Check out in the normal way, and we'll do the rest! No need to worry about the shipping address as we've got that covered for you. You can also add a message or even remain anonymous if you prefer - just let us know and we'll handle it all for you.
